My parents left on Friday and Jon's parents came Saturday night. It was so exciting to have so many visitors! We did lots of touristy things with Matt and Shauna that we have never done before. We visited Top of the Rock and went to the Native American museum. It was a huge museum and pretty cool. We visited Wilsons Creek Battlefield (which we have done before) but we haven't ever watched any of the videos or gone to the museum that you can walk through to learn about the battle that occurred there during the civil war. We also went to Nathaniel Greene park and spent some time together at home. They brought the kids Christmas jammies since we won't be there for Christmas too.
We put more effort into Halloween costumes this year. We asked Matt and Shauna to bring the funshine bear costume with them from Utah. Shauna made this costume for Jon when he was about Brigham's age. She also made two others for his older brothers. For some reason we were thinking Annabelle could wear it but it fit Brig perfect. He rocked it. Benson wanted to be a dinosaur and there really wasn't a costume that would work with his chair because of the whole tail thing. So we made one. But Jon didn't just make a dinosaur costume. He made a metal cage with gears and who knows how exactly but the legs moved when Benson drove so it looked like the dinosaur was running. I just sewed on the fabric. And Vanessa asked to be a white bunny but could not find a costume that she liked so we made her one. The ears didn't work out so well but other than that, I think it turned out cute. This pictures was at trunk or treat.
Annabelle fell asleep in the car on the way there. It reminded me of Vanessa because she did the exact same thing when she was this age on the way to the trunk or treat and she was also Belle.
We made these cute little spiders and then had spider races. This was actually before the costumes were done. Just testing out her tail and Brig being the little comic that he is. And Benson practicing his dinosaur.
I thought Annabelle looked so cute in this costume but she wouldn't leave it on for longer than two seconds.
We had fun carving pumpkins. But my favorite part was when the kids took my phone without me realizing it and posed the cats with the pumpkins.
This is Halloween night trick or treating at a random neighborhood. It was close to 80 degrees and the kids were basically sweating in their fleece. It's so impossible to predict the weather when planning costumes.
