Quote of the Week

So, Jon and I have a calling with the state mental hospital. We do FHE on Monday nights and they also asked us to come help escort to church on Sunday. So yesterday, Jon and I went and picked up all the residents from one of the units that wanted to go. One lady, she was probably in her sixties, was quite a character. She was quite hilarious the whole time (she wasn't intending to be and maybe I should feel bad that I found her so funny). She was worried that I was cold so she wanted me to wear her coat. I assured her that I was fine, that I have a baby heater to keep me warm. She didn't understand what I was talking about so another brother walking with us clarified that I have a baby in my belly. Her response: "Oh my gosh, that must be horrible! How do you eat?!"
Oh, what do you say to that? I admit, I laughed.

Trail Mix

What's the normal way to eat trail mix? I think I am OCD about how I eat the stuff. I really like the raisins so those I eat alone, as in just raisins. Almonds don't mix with others so I eat those alone too. I eat the peanuts and M&Ms together cause then you get a reeses flavor going on.
Fess up people! You do it too!

Happy Birthday Lynette!!

Just want to wish my sweetheart a happy birthday!
If I'm not mistaken, as of 1:40 pm today she is 23 years old.
What a blessing she has been in my life. I still shake my head in disbelief that someone so wonderful would marry someone like me.
Love you forever babe!

Having three chemistry courses this semester has taken my life over and I often reflect on what life would be like without chemistry classes. It would be a happy, fun life with purpose and a reason to get up in the morning. There would be no sleepless nights thinking about acyl substitution or acid-base reactions. No more burns on my hands in lab from chemicals I know nothing about. No more dumbfounded looks in lecture while everyone else nods as if they know what the teacher is talking about. Most of all I would realize that I really am not below average in life, that I am actually a smart, talented person that is good at something.

Ahhh, if only.
